Day 1: Hotel to Tarangire National Park
Get ready for an adventure! Our expert guides will meet you at your hotel to brief you on what’s in store. Then, we’re off to Tarangire, the hidden gem of the Northern Circuit. While it might not be as famous as the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire is packed with wildlife during the peak season, but with only a fraction of the visitors. From July to October, the game viewing here is out of this world, and the park’s unique atmosphere and landscapes set it apart from the others. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare dwarf mongoose, oryx, and gerenuk—spotting one is like finding treasure! And if you’re into birdwatching, Tarangire is a paradise with some of the best birding in Tanzania.
Our day will be filled with thrilling game drives, enjoying the sights from the open roof of our safari vehicle. After a day full of incredible wildlife encounters, we’ll head to a nearby campsite where we’ll spend the night under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater, then Drive to Arusha
After a delicious breakfast, we’re heading to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s a must-see on any Northern Tanzania safari. This is not just another crater—it’s the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a haven for wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater and its surrounding highlands are some of the most beautiful spots in Africa, offering stunning volcanic landscapes and rich grazing grounds that attract an abundance of wildlife.
The Crater is famous for its high density of big game, including all of the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. It’s the best place in Tanzania to see these iconic animals in one place. We’ll have a chance to spot black rhinos, some of the last remaining tusker elephants, and plenty of predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas. But that’s not all—keep an eye out for serval cats, cheetahs, jackals, gazelles, and even the rare bat-eared foxes.
We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch right in the heart of the Crater, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife. After lunch, we’ll continue our game drive, soaking in the beauty of this unique ecosystem. In the late afternoon, we’ll make our way back up the steep crater walls and begin our journey back to Arusha, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past two days.

But that’s just the beginning—Lake Manyara is also home to elephants, huge troops of baboons, and a diverse range of other wildlife, including wildebeest, buffalo, hippos, zebras, and more. The park’s varied landscape also attracts over 400 species of birds, so keep your camera ready for flamingos, pelicans, storks, and cormorants.
With the safari vehicle’s open roof, you’ll have the perfect vantage point for photography as you take in the stunning surroundings. After a day filled with incredible wildlife sightings, we’ll leave the park in the afternoon and head to the small town of Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll spend the night under the stars at a campsite.
Day 2: Mto wa Mbu to Ngorongoro Crater
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll head to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-see on any Northern Tanzania safari. The Crater is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife areas in the world and offers a unique chance to interact with the Maasai people.
The Ngorongoro Crater, along with the surrounding highlands, is a stunning region where volcanic craters create breathtaking backdrops to some of Africa’s richest grazing grounds. This is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to the highest concentration of big game in Africa. You’ll have the best chance here to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—all in one place. The Crater is also a haven for other wildlife, including cheetahs, jackals, gazelles, flamingos, and even the rare bat-eared foxes.
We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch right in the Crater, surrounded by incredible scenery and wildlife. After lunch, we’ll continue our game drive, taking in all the wonders this unique place has to offer. In the late afternoon, we’ll make our way up the Crater’s steep walls and head back to Arusha for the night.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park
Today, we’re heading to Tarangire, the hidden gem of the Northern Circuit. Often overshadowed by the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire offers some of the best game viewing from July to October, with massive concentrations of wildlife and far fewer visitors. The park’s unique atmosphere and landscape set it apart from the others, with the chance to spot rare species like the dwarf mongoose, oryx, and gerenuk.
Tarangire is also one of Tanzania’s top birding destinations, so keep an eye out for some of the country’s most beautiful birds. Our day will be spent on thrilling game drives, with plenty of opportunities to soak in the park’s beauty. After an extensive exploration of Tarangire, we’ll head back to Arusha, bringing our incredible 3-day safari adventure to a close.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off for the legendary Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the crown jewel of all safari parks—there’s simply nothing else like it. As we drive through this vast, awe-inspiring landscape, you’ll see why it’s the most celebrated wildlife reserve in the world. The sheer beauty and the abundance of wildlife here are beyond words.
The Serengeti is also steeped in culture, with the Maasai and Hadzabe tribes calling this area home. If you’re lucky, you might witness the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras thunder across the plains, especially from January to March during calving season, or between July and November when they make their dramatic river crossings. This is safari at its absolute best.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
On Day 3, we’ll journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, another one of Africa’s breathtaking regions. The highlight here is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. It’s a natural wonder and a haven for wildlife, with the highest density of big game in Africa.
Inside the Crater, you’ll have a chance to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—all in one place. And that’s not all; the Crater is also home to plenty of predators and other wildlife, making it one of the continent’s most famous safari spots. Outside the Crater, the wider Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers even more adventures, from walking safaris and treks to visits to Olduvai Gorge and encounters with the Maasai and other local tribes.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
We’ll start the day with more incredible wildlife viewing inside the Ngorongoro Crater. This place is like a magnet for animals, with its fertile soils and year-round water supply attracting all sorts of creatures. You might spot black rhinos, black-maned lions (the darker the mane, the older and more powerful the lion), and the highest concentration of spotted hyenas on the continent.
After a morning of unforgettable game viewing, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the Crater before making our way back to Arusha. It’s been an epic 4-day adventure, packed with the best of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Today is all about exploring the Serengeti! Our guides will take you deep into the heart of the park, where you’ll witness the incredible spectacle of wildebeest and zebra herds migrating across the plains in search of fresh grazing grounds. The Great Migration is one of the most awe-inspiring sights you can experience on safari. But even outside of migration season, the Serengeti offers outstanding game viewing year-round.
